Brutis BMR BD
Brutis BMR BD is a long maturity brachytic dwarf hybrid forage sorghum. Because of the genetics in Brutis, this makes it one of our top choices for full season silage.
- This variety, though short in stature, has a long maturity that adds to total yield
- Roughly 50% more leaves that are much longer and wider than tall forage sorghums, and short but very thick and soft pithy stems
- Quality is exceptional due to BMR genetics, good grain yield, a very high leaf to stem ratio, and lack of a hard rind on the stems
- The shorter mature height makes for exceptional standability
- If planted after July 1, Brutis will not produce grain, making it an ideal stockpiled winter grazing resource for brood cows
