Japanese Millet is a tall growing millet grown most as a forage grass. With heavy leafage and thick stems is more palatable hay when cut before heading. It is good for late-season green forage, silage and food resources for birds. For feed purposes it has the same fodder value as corn and is relished by livestock. Japanese Millet provides good yields of seed and is eaten by all types of seed-eating wildlife. Being able to grow in standing water or places prone to flooding it what makes excellent food for ducks.
